Biography
Born in 1986, the artist began her piano education at Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory under the guidance of Prof. Hülya Tarcan. She earned her master’s degree in the piano performance department at Istanbul Technical University’s Centre for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM), studying under State Artist Ayşegül Sarıca. In 2017, she graduated from ITU with her thesis titled “The Concept of Time in Music: An Analysis of Morton Feldman and Triadic Memories.”
Her first composition, Migration, was performed in 2015 by Sacha Rattle, Amy Salsgiver, and Jari Juhani Piper at the Cappadocia KK International Music Festival. In 2019, her piece Scutoid was selected to be performed at the Bilgi New Music Festival and was played by Ensemble Artafects.
The artist has actively collaborated with many pianists and attended numerous seminars and masterclasses led by distinguished composers. She participated in masterclasses with Martin Berkofsky, Vladimir Krypan, March Gianluca Perucci, Peter Florian, and Hüseyin Sermet. Additionally, she had the opportunity to work with Prof. George Kern and Rolf Plagge in Salzburg.
In 2015, she attended composition courses at the KK International Music Festival with Tolga Yayalar, Kurt Rohde, Rouben Deluter, and Onur Türkmen. In 2016, she attended composition seminars and lectures given by Jean-François Charles, Davide Ianni, and Pierluigi Billone at the Composit International Festival in Italy, following the courses as a passive participant. In 2025, at the Agora Art Camp, under the direction of Turgay Erdener, Evrim Demirel, Oğuzhan Balcı, Tolga Taviş, and Hasan Uçarsu, she took part in the composers’ camp, and a short excerpt from her composition Öteki was performed by the Nemeth Quartet.
In 2021, she performed İlhan Usmanbaş’s Three Sonatines for Piano and Clarinet as part of Duo Ares with clarinetist And Karabacak at CRR. She is currently the pianist of Trio La Nina. In 2024, she released the album 'Beklen’s Piano Pieces,' featuring her interpretations of composer Çağrı Beklen’s solo piano works.
The artist has held long-term positions as a piano instructor at Istanbul Technical University Children’s Conservatory. She has also worked as an accompanist and provided piano instruction at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Yıldız Technical University Department of Music, Performing Arts, and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory, and also at Bahçeşehir University’s Pera Conservatory. Currently, she is in the dissertation phase of her Ph.D. at Yıldız Technical University’s Department of Music and Performing Arts, and she is a lecturer at Pera Academy of Fine Arts.
